Troop 122 – 2010 In-House Merit Badge Forum – December 11, 2010.

When:  Saturday, December 11, 2009
Location: The forum is located at the Grace Covenant Church
Cost:  Scouts $5.00 PER Session – i.e. full day would be 2 sessions – total of $10

Check-in: 8:00 to 8:15
Session 1:  8:15 to 11:00
Lunch: 11:00 to 11:30 – Pizza & Drink provided
Session 2: 11:30 to 2:00

Registration: DUE Monday November 15th to Rodrigo or Kelli Roldan at the Monday Troop meetings.

We will be limited on the # of seats per class…so please sign up quickly!!  Prerequisites will be sent along with confirmation of classes so watch your email.

Classes Offered: (2010 class list) Personal Fitness, Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Personal Management, American Cultures, Architecture, Engineering, Plumbing, Coin Collecting, and Photography.

Red-Tailed Hawk District – 2011 Merit Badge Forum – January 8, 22, and February 5, 2010.

When:  Saturdays, January 8, 22, and February 5, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Location: The forum is located at California Trail Jr. HS; 13775 W 133rd Street, Olathe.
Cost:  Scouts $8.00 total for Forum
Registration: DUE Monday November 15th to Rodrigo or Kelli Roldan at the Monday Troop meetings.

There are three 55 Minute class periods that run each of the three days of the forum.  The first period begins at 1:00 PM, the second at 2:00 PM and the third at 3:00 PM.  Each scout may take as many as three classes, no more than TWO Eagle required classes will be allowed. 

Classes Offered: (2011 class list) Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Family Life, First Aid & CPR,  Personal Fitness, Personal Management , American Heritage, Architecture, Automotive Maintenance,  Aviation, Chemistry, Cinematography, Coin Collecting, Computers, Crime Prevention & Fingerprinting, Electricity, Electronics, Engineering, Farm Mechanics, Graphic Arts, Law, Medicine, Music, Photography, Salesmanship, Sports, and Traffic Safety.

Missouri Western State University – 2010 Merit Badge College

Every year the MWSU Merit Badge College offers an excellent program with highly qualified instructors and state-of-the-art facilities.

This year, over two dozen merit badges will be offered that can be either partially earned or completed the day of the event. As in the past, Scouts will be able to enroll in two separate badge classes, and enrollments will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

28 classes offered in 2010. Each scout is requested to enroll in only one EAGLE required badge.  A second Eagle badge may be listed as the third or fourth choice in case their first choice is full.   

When:  Saturday, March 20, 2010 – at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO.
Cost:  Scouts $20.00 – includes two classes, hot lunch, registration, and participation patch.
Adults $8.00 -  includes registration, hot lunch, and participation patch.
Transportation:  On your own, carpooling is suggested but not organized by the troop.

Harry S. Truman Library Merit Badge Forum – 2011

The Fall Harry S. Truman Library Merit Badge Forum Registration will take place August 16th. The actual forum will take place on Saturday, September 18th. You will have the opportunity to earn one of the following two merit badges: Citizen in the Nation or American Heritage. If you are interested, you must sign up online individually. This is not a Troop event. You can learn more details by clicking on the link below. FYI, in the past this has filled up within minutes. Normally, there is also one offered in the Spring as well if you cannot make this one but that registration will be at a later date.
